What Is It?

What is online accounting?

Accounting Help specialize in the use of online accounting systems

On-line accounting is where you can access your accounting system via the web.  Historically most businesses have hosted their own accounting system on a PC or a server sitting in their offices. But with the development of the web and the software-as-a-service model (SAAS) this has all changed. There are 15-20 accounting software providers (and this number is growing) in the UK that provide a fully-hosted solution.

Why use online accounting?

Online accounting gives you immediate access to your accounting system via the web with the following benefits:

  • It removes the stress of buying and maintaining your accounting system.
  • It removes the problem of having to back up your accounting system.
  • You can access your accounting from any computer wherever you are.
  • Online accounting is designed for use by non-accountants.
  • Easier communication with your accounting staff because you can all view the system at the same time.
  • Easier integration with your other IT systems and your banking system.
  • It removes the need to manually key in bank transactions.
  • Above all on line accountancy is cheaper and more reliable than traditional accounting systems.

Safety and Back-up

With SAAS (software-as-a-service) model:

  • All data is stored on servers just like e-mails
  • No data can be obtained without the correct log in and password
  • All data is properly secured and regularly backed-up
  • All our software providers will have the best security and back-up procedures
  • We will advise on the best accounting system for your business
